I was counting an extra two weeks for the holidays. And I know other writers who have heard back with a request well beyond the six week mark because the agents have been extremely busy. And yeah, a lot of them are nonresponders to queries. It's actually 6 weeks per our guidelines before you assume a "no." Good luck! Sometimes we send things that get lost in cyberspace, yet we don't know that since most of the agents at Andrea Brown are non responders (and I don't blame them). I was torn between querying you or another agent. The other agent won by a margin because I'd seen her present at a SCBWI conference. Now I really wish I had queried you because I would have known for sure. Plus I love your great advice. I'm just going to assume it wasn't right for the agency. Actually, I'm going to wait the 8 weeks then assume that. :D Hopefully your possible issue is resumed soon.
