Submissions Closed for Novel Beginning Workshop

I’m so sorry to do this, but I’ve already gotten over 50 submissions, way too many for the 8 slots available for workshop. I know that this is a valuable opportunity and will definitely offer something like this again, but I have to keep my pool of entries somewhat manageable, since I have so many other things on my plate right now. Entries received after 7:30 a.m. Pacific today will go unread.

Hope you’re having a nice weekend. I’m at the Big Sur conference, having a wonderful time!

    I swear you’ve got some remote sensor that reads my mind (your posts always make me feel a bit like a guilty school child who’s been caught out - caught out sending queries too early, being impatient, and so on). I was seriously about to click send on my entry when you posted this! It’s actually quite unnerving this mind-reading thing. What am I having for dinner? Go on, guess! He he he.

    Holy Cow, that was fast! How great that so many are willing to share. So glad you’re having a great time Mary. You can never go wrong staying at Embassy Suites! And to mix it with writing, a dream.

    Drat. Missed it but I totally understand. I can’t wait to read what is submitted. Am thankful there I are people like you who are willing to teach in this manner. Look forward to the next opportunity.

    You crack me up, Mary. Not many agents are taking the time to present these opportunities. It’s amazing that you do this.
    I always smile when you are surprised by the huge response, because I’m not surprised at all. We know a great opportunity when we see it.

    Wow, I need to check back here more often. I’ve been checking for your winning picks, but I missed this. I will definitely be looking for your next opportunity like this, and I am very interested in seeing the submissions you do use. This is a great thing you’re doing, and I’m very thankful that you’re willing to take the time for this. Thank you so much, even though it’s not my beginning you’re taking apart.
